Modak (Poorana Kolukattai)


Method

For Pooranam:

Disolve 1 cup Jaggery with 1 cup grated coconut, mix till thick, Add Cardamom powder.


Let it cool.

For batter:

Soak 1 cup rice , drain the water and blend in mixie till coarse powder.
Add 1 cup water and make a smooth batter.
Add little salt.



Then boil 1 cup water in a kadai, add a spoon of oil or ghee and the batter.
Stir continuously without lumps  till it forms a smooth dough.


Let it cool.Make small balls.

Then stuff some rice ball inside mould, then stuff the Pooranam in centre and again close the stuff with rice ball.


De-mould the Modak and steam cook for 10 mts till cooked.
